The East Extern includes the communities of Portugal Cove-St. Philip's, Torbay, Middle Cove-Outer Cove-Logy Bay, Flatrock, and Pouch Cove. These stats cover the region as a whole. Each community will have performed differently than the East Extern average. On average single family homes in the East Extern increased in the 1st quarter of 2010 by 25.6% as compared to the same period in 2009. This is exceptional performance, and much better than the entire St. John's and area regional average which was up 13.4% for the same period. 

In the first quarter of 2010, 65 single family homes were sold, compared to 48 in 2009. That equates to a 35.4% increase in sales as compared to a 18.4% increase in sales in the entire St. John's metropolitian area.
