Settlers first arrived here in the 1800s, and began farming the land. Goulds has the distinction of being one of the few farming areas in the province where the ocean could not be seen. Goulds real estate, southwest of downtown St. John’s, is accessible to the city by a number of roads. It is also on the city’s Metrobus routes. This quiet community is a wonderful place for families. Its many facilities include a recreation centre and a hockey arena. For nature lovers, there are wooded areas, ponds, rivers and lakes. Sport lovers can skate and skidoo in winter, and play softball, soccer and tennis, and swim in the summer. A landmark in Goulds is the Bidgoods’ Shopping Plaza. Among other merchants, the plaza has a grocery store, with delicious and sought after homemade bread. Goulds real estate is close to restaurants and churches.
