Freshwater, Placentia Bay and International Ice Dancing Competitions - There's a Connection???

For our family there is. We're from Freshwater and proud of it and my brother Ted's daughter Allie is in Sweden competing in the World's Ice Dance Competition. And needless to say we're very proud of her.

Forgive an uncle if he takes an opportunity to brag. Allie and her skating partner Michael Coreno are one of the three Canadian couples competing in the World Ice Dance Competition in Sweden. A 3rd place finish at Skate Canada (click here to see their free dance) ensured they had a berth at the Worlds.

So far 2008 has been an exciting year for the entire Hann clan. Allie and Michael won the Bronze in Skate Canada, then went to the Four Continents Competition in South Korea (click here to see their routine) and now the Worlds in Sweden. They've only been competing at the Senior Level for a year and they have progressed far beyond where they thought they might be at this point. They're a great couple and level headed about the chance to represent Canada at the Worlds. They're goal is to skate their personal best. We think that's the best kind of goal. Go Allie and Michael.
