Questions to Ask the Builder
- What is their history as a building firm? Reputation is important. Ask how long they have been in business and how many homes they build per year. Make sure that your home is given the personal attention needed for the quality you deserve.
- What products and suppliers do they use? You will want to work with a builder who uses reputable companies for labor and materials. If you don’t recognize the suppliers and product brands, dig a little deeper. You don’t want to buy a new home outfitted with inferior products. If you recognize the names as quality products it is a reasonable indication that the home will be well-built.
- How much do homes in the area appreciate over time? Remember "location, location, location" is a real estate mantra. You are about to make one of the largest investments in your life. If you do it right you can expect to reap big dividends further down the road when you sell.
